Ford EcoSport, the new urban compact SUV from Ford is the new talk of town. Ford has finally launched the much awaited Compact SUV with a tempting starting price tag of 5.59 lakhs!
We have seen Ford EcoSport in New Delhi Auto Expo in January 2012 and Ford has big plans for Ecosport to be exported to 40 countries from India. Compact SUV segment is slowly gaining popularity in India and Renault Duster is currently ruling Indian roads in the entry level category. It seems like Ford EcoSport can become a nightmare for Renault if Ford strike at the right chords.
Mahindra Quantro and Maruti Ertiga are other two rivals for Ecosport. Ford Ecosport will also attract compact sedan buyers who go for Honda Amaza or Maruti Swift DZire.
Ford Ecosport is an urban SUV designed for city lifestyle. Its compact design makes it easy to park and drive through busy city streets. Moreover, It has the right mix for an SUV to go to places you want to go.
Ecosport Engine and Price
With three engine options - 1.0 litre petrol with Ecoboost technology, 1.5 litre turbo petrol and 1.5 litre diesel, Ecosport comes in 10 variants. It comes in 7 colors with 38 accessories.- 1.5 litre petrol starts with 5.59 Lakhs
- 1 litre Ecoboost Petrol starts with 7.90 Lakhs
- 1.5 litre diesel Ecosport starts with 6.69 Lakhs
- Automatic transmission 1.5 petrol Ecosport can be yours for 8.45 Lakhs!
Mileage (ARAI tested)
- 1.0 L Petrol Ecoboost: 18.7 Kmpl
- 1.5 L Turbo Petrol: 15.8 Kmpl
- 1.5 L Diesel : 22.7 Kmpl
One can expect a mileage of 15.6 Kmpl for automatic petrol Ecosport. ARAI tested mileage for Diesel Ecosport is 22.7 Kmpl. But one can expect around 15 Kmpl in city driving and 18 Kmpl on highways.

ReplyDeleteFord Ecosport is far superior than Duster. Ecosport is more compact, has better interiors and gives good performance than duster. Duster scores for the engine and mileage and definitely the price. Ecosport is not far behind.

Yes you are right. Ford has entered the Compact SUV space to get a piece of cake which has been in hands of Duster for some time now.Duster is a highway SUV, better for long drive. But for city driving and features, Ecosport is far ahead.
