New Honda CR-V 2013 Review

New Honda CR-V launch 2013

Come February 2013, Honda will launch its fourth generation Honda CR-V in India!

Honda CR-V, the most popular imported SUV in India for a long time still has good number of fans following. Now Honda is all ready to launch its much awaited fourth generation CR-V, which will be assembled in India. This will help Honda in pricing it competitively.

With competition becoming very tight in recent times for SUV segment, Honda CR-V is seen slowly losing its grip with buyers.  This could be due to high price and lack of diesel option. Though Honda is coming back with cars powered by new diesel engine, we have to wait a bit to see a diesel CR-V in India. So an improved and facelifted version of the existing petrol model was what the doctor suggested for the time being!

So what are the changes in this new Honda CR-V?

One doesn't have to think much to recognise the new Honda CR-V from outside. It is very easy to make out. We can spot a lot of sharper details in new CR-V. It is interesting to note the pointing rear window glass. There is a stylish three bar horizontal grille and overall, the new CR-V looks much compact, sharper and aggressive.

There would be two engine options:

  • 2.0 litre i-VTEC Petrol – upgraded one
  • 2.4 litre i-VTEC Petrol

There will not be any diesel version initially.

2.4 litre engine model will have five speed automatic version. New CR-V has a faster electrically actuated four wheel drive system. Base model will spot 2.0 litre engine which may come with an option of manual gearbox as well. New CR-V will get a more efficient electrically assisted steering system. New CR-V will feature improved suspension geometry, a firm body structure and a full length under body tray to reduce road noises as much as possible.
