All New Honda City Unveiled – It comes with Diesel Engine Variant

Honda has unveiled the all-new City fourth-generation City in New Delhi. It will be available in both petrol and diesel engine variants. This is the first time Honda is coming up with a Diesel variant for City. The new car follows the Honda’s H design approach, which will be passed over to other Honda model cars. The car has become much more spacious, stylish and smart than its forerunners.

Tell me, is there any major change?

At first glance, the car resembles the existing City. But if we look closer, we can notice the change by ourselves. The car has got

  • New twin barrel headlight
  • Narrow rear tail lamps that wrap around the boot lid
  • Sharper bumper
  • Notable front grille
  • New strong character lines on the sides
  • More legroom and space inside
  • And a host of new luxurious features

  •  Improved 1.5 litre iVTEC petrol engine
  •  Honda’s 1.5 litre iDTEC diesel engine (Same as in  Amaze)

  • 6 Speed manual (diesel)

  • Length of the car is 4440 mm - same as the present Honda City
  • Wheelbase is 2600 mm - an increase of 50mm over the current City.

Is it high on Features?
As we said before, the new Honda City is equipped with host of new luxurious features like never before. The features in top end variant include:

Tell us about its mileage
  • Diesel Engine: 25.8 Kmpl (Expected)
  • Petrol Engine 15 Kmpl (Expected)
  • In actual road conditions and heavy traffic, we can expect a mileage of around 13 Kmpl for petrol and 18.5 Kmpl for diesel model.

Did Honda say anything about the price?
Honda has not yet revealed the cost. However, we expect the cost to be between Rs. 8.5 lakh for the base petrol model to Rs. 11.5 lakh for the top-end diesel.

When can I see this car in Indian Roads?
The new Honda City is expected to go on sale in January 2014.
